A bit early, to most people's surprise. Why? I was blowing up things in JSA at camp around 10pm, and just as a small explosion occured (they really overreacted, it was about equal to a bottle rocket popping noise), Nancy and Sharon (supreme lords of camp) appear from behind a tent. Commence apocalypse. Doom, death, destruction, my materials taken away, and by 9:00 this morning, I was gone, along with Garett. However, in the strangely backwards way of thinking that is Sharon, she said "Don't let this discourage you, and I'd be happy to hire you back on next year." But aside from the fact that I'm grounded till the weekend (oh noes! the horror! I now am forced to sit at home and play videogames. Oh, spare me! That, and the fact that I would have probably been gone till monday morning for teardown anyway, it's sort of a reprieve.
Good:
I'm not off sweating like crazy in the sun
I get off early
I'm not present for teardown
No more teaching (esp. that one kid in canoeing... grrr)
No more troop 12 (huzzah)
I'll actually probably end up in public earlier than I would if I had stayed
I can get hired next year with no real problems
I went out with a bang (literally)
Bad:
No end of year party (even though there probably wouldn't have been anything in JSA, which is really stupid, considering we haven't had a fire all year, I was the only one that really burned stuff)
No staff dinner/gift exchange
No more waterfront for the year (It was fun)
I miss like $50 of my last paycheck
Grounded for 5 days
Parents will use this as leverage to get me to do stuff (dammit)
And if anyone was wondering what the explosives were, it was chlorine tablets (the type for pool filters, this was the slow-reacting stuff, not the shock treatment, sadly) and brake fluid. Approximatley $3 at wal-mart. Oh yeah, and a plastic gatorade bottle. Basically it just heats up and ignites the brake fluid (if I had been using the powder pool treatment stuff, it would have been much more violent), but in this case, it took about 3 minutes to ignite. Hell, they used to use this stuff to light campfires in front of campers. It was truly an overreaction and I will show you what actually happens sometime if you want me to.

Re: god damn...
yea i nearly killed geldrich... every single time he wanted to tell me something that he thought was funny that really wasnt at all he would touch me... this made me very angry because people dont usually touch travis and then when he would it meant that something that wasnt funny was to come... and yea Cap'n Caroline Flashdance Asspants had to make a treasure run all by himself... i told gelrrich of the ice pirates and he asked about my crew... what they were called so i told them that you were called fired... i skipped out on teardown not that i dont see why i need to be there for no pay doing manual labor in the sun, but frankly i dont... we should do something iceburg(garret) you and the Cap'n... im coming back today so ill give you a callJuly 29 2005, 14:39:13 UTC 6 years ago
